Scholarships - 2025-2026

Each scholarship has different requirements & due dates.  Please pay close attention to who and where you turn each application in.   I will update this site with new scholarships as I get them.  Check back often!  : )

The Gates Scholarship

The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential.

Hispanic Women of North Texas

The Hispanic Women of North Texas is seeking young women that would like to grow their social and professional skills.  This is a 7 month commitment of meetings and workshops.  You will receive a scholarship at the end of the program.  Please click this link to see the flyers

ALERT Magazine Scholarship

You can help others become more alert by speaking out against the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.  All eligible high school seniors (see requirements below) may enter the Alert college scholarship essay contest. With each edition of Alert Magazine we award a $500 college scholarship to the writer of the best drug and/or
alcohol abuse-related essay that we receive for that state/region.
You must have a grade point average of 2.5 or better.  You must have plans to attend college after graduation  (the college you will attend can be located in any state).

Bryson McCarty Memorial Scholarship

Founded in 2021, the Bryson McCarty Memorial Scholarship. is a 501(c)(3) charity that supports agriculture education in the Lubbock, Lamb, Hale, and Hockley counties.            Click HERE to apply.

Purpose: To identify high school seniors who possess a strong desire to continue academics in an agriculture trade, leadership positions in student organizations, and plan on attending an Trade School.

Reward: Two students selected from the students who apply will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for financial assistance for trade school.

Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:

- Reside in Lubbock, Lamb, Hale, or Hockley county

-A high school senior accepted into an accredited junior college or trade school for the 2025-2026 year and must be going into an agriculture-related field of study.

- Must be a US citizen

- Agriculture-related Trade School

- Financial Need

- Complete an essay question  

*Application must be submitted by March 15th, 2026 at 11:59pm.

*GPA, extracurricular activities, career statement, and financial need statement are not required but may assist in the selection process.
