Vexus Scholarship
Qualification Criteria
The recipient must be a person completing their high school education whose address at which they legally reside (by self, parent or legal guardian) must be within one of the following cities in the State of Texas: Abernathy, Burkburnett, Borger, Canyon, Colorado City, Hale Center, Iowa Park, Levelland, Littlefield, New Deal, Olton, Pampa, Shallowater, Slaton, Smyer, Whitharral, Whitehouse. High School seniors and non-traditional students can apply. Non-traditional students include those students attending private, parochial, home school or have obtained their GED.

This year, 31 $3,000 scholarships will be awarded! All applications are due by Friday, March 7, 2025 and must be mailed.
Texas Telephone Association Foundation Scholarship

The Texas Telephone Association Foundation (“TTAF”) is excited to announce the opening of the 2025 scholarship application. The TTA Foundation awards six, 4-year scholarships, with $1,000.00 per full time fall and spring semester for a total of $8,000, per award. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 14, 2025, and award winners will be announced in late April 2025. Incomplete/Complete applications will not be accepted for any reason after the deadline of March 14th , 2025.

Capital Farm Credit Youth Scholarship​
Are you a high school senior with an agricultural background? Are you looking to pursue a career within the agricultural industry after graduation?
​
Capital Farm Credit awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors across Capital Farm Credit market territories. Youth scholarships are awarded using the following eligibility requirements:
1. Funds shall be used to attend an accredited vocational or technical school, college or university. Student must maintain full time status.
2. Applicants must be high school seniors, graduating within the current school year.
3. Applicant must demonstrate that they have a tentative educational plan and goals, related to fields in agriculture or natural resources (may include Ag Communications, Ag Economics/Business, Ag Education, Wildlife or Ranch Management, etc.).
4. Applicants must include digital copies of the following documents along with their completed online application for consideration:
a. Copy of recent high school transcript
b. 2 letters of recommendation
Preference will be given to applicants who reside inside Capital Farm Credit market territories. Those territories are:

Texas Rural Women's Association Scholarship
​
​Twenty (20) TREWA scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded to CURRENT TREWA members and their children. Applicant or applicant’s parent or guardian must also be a current member or an employee of a Texas electric cooperative or an employee of Texas Electric Cooperatives, Inc.

Junior League of Lubbock Scholaship
​
The Junior League of Lubbock (JLL) is pleased to offer a $2,500 Volunteer Service Award Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to a young woman who is either a high school senior,or has obtained a GED within the current League year, or is attending a transitional school who has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to voluntarism.
The criteria for selection are as follows:

Attending post-secondary education in 2025 through spring of 2026

Smyer Volunteer Fire Department Scholarship
2 Smyer high school seniors will be awarded $1,000.
Applications are due April 1, 2025 and must be dropped off at Smyer City Hall.

WHO CAN APPLY?
-
Must currently reside in one of the Texas Counties within the PPHEF service area for scholarship consideration. Please review the PPHEF Service Area Counties to see if you are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
-
Plan to enroll or currently enrolled at a governmental or non-profit educational institution, located in the State of Texas that has been accredited by a recognized accrediting agency, such as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and provided the institution offers an academic degree program requiring at least two school years attendance. Note: Degree or Certificate programs that are described as technical programs or do not prepare a student to transfer to a college and work toward a baccalaureate degree are not eligible programs for scholarship consideration.

Applicant must be either a current Texas High School Graduate from an accredited public or private Texas high school, or a currently enrolled undergraduate college student without a Bachelor's degree, with at least 2.50 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
-
Full-time college enrollment is required for scholarship consideration.

Eligibility will be assessed by reviewing information concerning academic performance, financial need, extracurricular activities, leadership and references provided in the application process.

Applications will be reviewed and scored on a 100 point scale to determine eligibility and award amount for the scholarship.
-
If awarded, funds will be sent directly to the college or university for credit or disbursement to the student account.
Priority deadline for completed scholarship applications is 03/01/2025.

Carl N. and Margaret Karcher Founders' Scholarship

Mensa Foundations
There are two requirements for applicants:
-
Applicants must intend to enroll in a degree program in an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning during the academic year following the application date.
-
Applicants must submit an application and essay explaining his or her career, academic and/or vocational goals.
Applicants have until Jan. 15 to write an essay of not more than 550 words explaining their career, academic and/or vocational goals and how they plan to achieve those goals. For more information, read our scholarship FAQ.
Applications for Foundation scholarships are available only during the fall of each year. In general, applications are available from Sept. 15 until Jan. 15, which is the application deadline.

EECU Scholarship
Could you use help with your college or trade school tuition? The EECU Scholarship awards up to $5,000 for four-year bachelor’s degree programs and up to $2,500 for two-year community college or vocational/technical school programs. Awards are disbursed in $1,250 annual increments as long as you continue to meet eligibility requirements.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to be considered:

An EECU Community Foundation member OR EECU member or eligible for membership through a parent or guardian;
-
A graduating high school senior;
-
A member in good standing or their parent/guardian a member in good standing (i.e., no delinquent loans, overdrawn or charged off accounts) at the time of application;
-
Exemplifies social responsibility, demonstrative leadership, excellence in character, integrity, and involved in the local community;
-
Demonstrative of scholastic achievement with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale;
-
Endorsed by two letters of reference attesting to the student’s qualifications, character and suitability; and,
-
Not a director, member of EECU’s Executive Management, or immediate family member (spouse, parent, sibling, child, grandchild, and spouses of children, grandchildren or other persons living in the same residence and maintained as a single economic unit) of EECU or the EECU Community Foundation.

Horatio Alger Association
While most other scholarships focus exclusively on academic achievement or leadership potential, Horatio Alger Scholarships are also intended for promising students who have critical financial need, demonstrate integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and are determined to succeed.

Lubbock Christian University
First Time Freshmen 2024-25 — West Texas Promise
LCU’s West Texas Promise is our promise to first time beginning freshmen that they will receive a minimum of $28,000 over four years and potentially up to $40,000 over four years. The West Texas Promise award amount is determined by high school GPA. Eligible students must apply and be accepted for admission. Students who submit a completed FAFSA and any requested supporting documentation and enroll full-time are eligible for institutional scholarships in addition to LCU’s West Texas Promise. Scholarship Kickoff: An additional $1,000-$2,000 is possible through LCU’s Scholarship Kickoff in February. There is no GPA requirement to maintain this award which is in addition to West Texas Promise.

Golden Spread Electric Coop. Scholarship
QUALIFICATION:If you are high school senior and live in one of Golden Spread's Member Territories, you are eligible to apply for our Directors' Memorial Scholarship, in partnership with The Opportunity Plan. Your Cooperative membership will be verified using the utility bill required in your application.
TIMELINE:Applications open January 1st. Completed applications are due by March 1st each calendar year. Directors' Memorial Scholarship recipients will be notified in May and recipients will receive a notification from Opportunity Plan, Inc.

McCarty Farms Scholarship
We have two $1,000.00 scholarships available for students pursuing an agricultural-related field at a Trade School (ex welding, diesel mechanic, mechanic school).
Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:
- Reside in Lubbock, Lamb, Hale, or Hockley county
-A high school senior accepted into an accredited junior college or trade school for the 2024-2025 year and must be going into an agriculture-related field of study.
- Must be a US citizen
- Agriculture-related Trade School
- Financial Need
- Complete an essay question
*Application must be submitted by March 15th, 2025 at 11:59pm.
*GPA, extracurricular activities, career statement, and financial need statement are not required but may assist in the selection process.

New TACS District Employee Scholarship

To apply for a scholarship, send a completed application to TACS by 11:59 PM (CST) on March 1st, 2025. The student selected will be presented the scholarship at their school.

There is no limit to the number of scholarships a single student can apply for, as long as the applicant meets the requirements of each scholarship.
